Summer Snowflakes not Snowdrops at Dunham Massey
There is nothing nicer than having a beautiful local park that you can visit. Dunham Massey, a National Trust estate is no exception and one of my favourite places alongside Tatton Park that I like to visit. The estate is wonderful and the garden is just beautiful. I have shared a few more photos that are available on 500px.
I thought these were Snowdrops (Galanthus), but thanks to #AI I stand corrected. These are Summer Snowflakes (Leucojum aestivum) and look very similar to Snowdrops.
Snowdrops (Galanthus):
- Have one flower per stem.
- Outer petals are long and curve downward, with small green marks.
Summer Snowflakes (Leucojum):
- Have multiple flowers per stem (often 3–7).
- Bell-shaped flowers, each petal having a green dot at the tip (very visible in your photo).
- Thicker, more upright stems.
